1．自然地理National Geography
当您乘坐的大型客机平稳地降落在上海虹桥国际机场，您便踏上了上海市长宁区的这片热土。
长宁区地处上海市中心城区西部，以贯穿全境的长宁路命名被誉为“上海西大门”。东与静安区、徐汇区毗邻，西、南与闵行区相接、北与普陀区、嘉定区相连。区域面积38.3平方公里，户籍人口61万，外来常住人口9.7万。
When the charter flight you take lands smoothly at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, you are stepping on the ground of Changning District, Shanghai.
Located in the west of downtown Shanghai, it is honored as the "West Gate to Shanghai" with Changning Road running through the whole district. It is adjacent to Jing'an District and Xuhui District in the east and adheres to Minhang District in the west and the south. It also connects with Putuo and Jiading districts in the north. Covering a total area of 38.3 square kilometers, Its permanent population totals 610,000 and the floating population reaches 97,000.
这里气候温和湿润，绿树掩映，数十条道路编织出四通八达的城市交通网，苏州河横亘长宁东西北，长宁成为申城人流、物流、信息流、资金流的重要汇聚之地，是上海中心城区交通、生态、居住和人文环境最好的城区之一。
It is warm and wet here with greens covering the district as a blanket. Several tens of roads are weaved into a city transport net which extends in all directions. Suzhou Creek lies across Changning District's east, west and north. Changning has become an important hu flow in the city, logistics, information flow and capital flow. It is one of the best districts with the best transport, ecology, residential and cultural environment in the downtown area.
2．行政区划Administrative Divisions
唐天宝十年（751年），设置华亭县，境域属华亭县高昌乡。北宋开宝三年（970年），境内建法华禅寺，称法华巷。至清乾隆、嘉庆年间，法华成为上海县西部首镇。民国36年，境域首称长宁区，后改称法曹区。解放后，1949年6月8日，正式定名长宁区至今，辖九个街道1个镇。
In 751, also known as a time under the reign of Tianbao in Tang Dynasty, Huating County was established and the area was designated as Gaochang Town of Huating County. In 970, also known as a time under the reign of Kaibao in Southern Song Dynasty, Huachan Temple was established in the area and it was then called Fahua Lane. By the time of Qing Dynasty, in the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Jiaqing, Fahua became the top town in Shanghai's west. In the 36th year of Republic of China, the area was first named as Changning District, which was later turned into Facao District. After China's emancipation, On June 8, 1949, it was officially named Changning District and remains till now. It includes nine communities and a town.
长宁区共设九街一镇，自西向东分别是程家桥街道、新泾镇、北新泾街道、虹桥街道、仙霞新村街道、周家桥街道、天山路街道、华阳路街道、新华路街道和江苏路街道。
Changning District is comprised of nine communities and a town. From west to east are Chengjiaqiao Community, Xinjing Town, Beixinjing Community, Hongqiao Community, Xianxia Community, Zhoujiaqiao Community, Tianshanlu Community, Huayanglu Community, Xinhualu Community and Jiangsulu Community.
3．交通便捷Convenient Transport
虹桥国际机场作为中国三大国际机场之一，既是上海的空中门户，也是中国东部对外交往的重要通道。
As one of the three international airports in China, Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is not only an air gateway of Shanghai, but also a key channel for east China to conduct foreign exchange.
延安路高架横贯长宁东西，直通外环、连接沪宁、沪杭和沪青平高速公路，成为上海通往外省市的高速交通枢纽。轨道交通二、三、四号线，长宁路、虹桥路、华山路、内外环和中环线等快速干道交通，加强了长宁与上海其他区域之间的联系。
Yan'an Elevated Road runs across Changning from east to west. Directly linking to outer ring road and highways such as Huning, Huhang and Huqingping, it has become a highway transport hub leading Shanghai to other cities and provincs. Main arteries such as Metro Line 2, 3, 4, Changning Road, Hongqiao Road, Huashan Road, inner and outer ring road and middle ring road tightens Changning's tie with the city's other areas.
建设中的国家级重点工程虹桥综合交通枢纽，落户长宁西侧。拥有空港、高架、轻轨、地铁等便捷立体交通的长宁，依托虹桥综合交通枢纽，又将集高速铁路、城际铁路和磁悬浮于一身。长宁已成为名副其实的上海“西大门”。
Hongqiao Comprehensive Transport Hub, the national keynote project under construction, is located in the west of Changning. Featuring convenient and three-dimensional transport of airplane, elevated road and metro lines, Changning will take advantage on Hongqiao Comprehensive Transport Hub, and integrate high-speed railway, intercity railways and maglev railway. Changning is actually worthy of the name of the "West Gate to Shanghai."
4．国际特征International Characteristics
长宁区是上海市涉外资源最丰富的区域之一，区域内共有23家领事馆和200多栋外交官邸，占全市领事馆总数的37%；境内的外资企业和办事机构已有3600多家；居住着来自114个国家和地区的<FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#.5万名常住外籍人士；上海第一个涉外小区――古北新区是驰名中外的“小小联合国”；上海首个国际图书馆――“中国之窗”上海阅览中心暨上海虹桥国际图书馆、浦西唯一的出入境管理中心坐落长宁。区内聚集了数十家四星级以上宾馆、高档酒店，甲级写字楼和众多国际交流活动场所。长宁正日益建设成为宜商宜居的现代化国际城区。
Changning District is one of the areas in Shanghai which boast the most abundant resources of foreign affairs. There are a total of 23 foreign consulates in the district, accounting for 37 percent of the city's total foreign consulates. It also features more than 200 mansions for diplomacy. More than 3,000 foreign-owned enterprises and institutions have based in the district. 35,000 permanent foreign residents from 114 countries and regions live here. Gubei New Area, the first foreign community in Shanghai, is a "small United Nation" well-known home and abroad. The district is also highlighted by “Chinese Window” Shanghai Reading Center, also known as Hongqiao International Library, the first international library in Shanghai, and the only exit-entry administration center in Puxi.
The district gathers several tens of four-star hotels or above, high-end hotels, top-A office buildings and many venues for foreign exchanges. Changning is gradually being built into a modern international area worthy for business and residence.
5．综合实力Comprehensive Strength
长宁区是上海市经济发展最快、经济最发达的地区之一。2008年实现地区生产总值（GDP）448.11亿元，位居上海市中心城区第5位，区级财政收入为52.62亿元，居上海市中心城区第2位。海关进出口总额达28.58亿美元，位居各区县之首。
Changning District is one of the most developed areas in Shanghai which boast the most rapid development speed. In 2008, the district's gross domestic product reached 44.811 billion yuan, ranking the fifth among Shanghai's downtown areas. The fiscal revenue at district level reached 5.262 billion yuan, ranking the second among the areas in the downtown. The total value of imports and exports reached 2.858 billion dollars, ranking top among the 18 districts and Chongming County.
迄今为止，已有18000多家企业落户在长宁，主要分布在46栋重点商务楼里，其中拥有外商投资企业3000多家，外省市投资企业600多家，房地产企业800多家，科技企业1400多家，这些企业的规模迅速扩大，形成了长宁的四大经济增长点。
Up till now, more than 18,000 enterprises have based in Changning. Mainly distributed at 46 key office buildings. Among them, more than 3,000 are foreign-owned enterprises, over 600 enterprises from other cities and provinces, over 800 real estate enterprises and over 1,400 scientific and technological enterprises. With rapid expansion, these enterprises have formed four economic increasing points of Changning District.
6．功能布局Function Arrangement
长宁区在三大经济组团建设的基础上，抓住世博会和虹桥综合交通枢纽机遇，由三大组团扩展为“三区两带”的规划布局，作为长宁长远发展的战略性部署。
On the basis of construction of three economic sections, Changning District takes the opportunity of World Expo Shanghai 2010 and Hongqiao Comprehensive Transport Hub, expanding the plan into "Three areas and two belts," which is now the long-term strategic plan for the district's development.
中部建设以虹桥涉外贸易中心为核心的“国际商务功能区”，凸显“国际、商贸、文化”特征，将发展成为上海现代化国际大都市的商务商贸中心。
The district's central area is built into an "international business function area" centering on Hongqiao Foreign International Trade Centre. Highlighted by characteristics such as being "international, commercial and cultural," it will develop into a business and trade center in the modern and metropolitan city of Shanghai.
东部建设以中山公园商业中心为核心的“商业商务功能区”，凸显“商业型、休闲式、数字化”特征，将发展成为上海市级商业中心和国家数字媒体技术产业化基地（上海）园区的核心区域。
The construction at the district's east is a "business and commercial function area" centering on Zhongshan Park Business Center. Highlighted by "business, recreation and digitalization," it is going to be a business center at city level and a key area of the state's digital media technology industrialization base park (Shanghai).
西部建设以虹桥临空经济园区为核心的“总部经济功能区”，凸显“总部经济、虹桥门户”定位和“园林式、高科技、总部型”特征，将发展成为呼应虹桥综合交通枢纽功能、为国内和长三角服务的重要区域。
The construction at the district's west is a "headquarter economy function area" centering on Hongqiao Linkong Economic Zone. Highlighted by the position of "headquarter economy, Hongqiao gateway" and characteristics of "garden-style, high-tech and headquarter-type," it will be developed into a keynote area to echo the function of Hongqiao Comprehensive Transport Hub and serve domestic market and the Yangtze Delta Region.
北部建设“苏州河沿线创意景观带”，重点建设上海第一坊和苏州河沿线景观带，发展成为苏州河现代服务业的西部亮点。
The construction at the district's north is "Innovative Scenic Belt along Suzhou Creek." The key aim is to build the top lane in Shanghai and a scenic belt along Suzhou Creek, and develop it into a highlight in the west of Suzhou Creek's modern service industry.
南部建设“虹桥路（新华路、延安西路）文化功能带”，重点建设新华路影视文化街区、新十钢文化创意产业区和虹桥路国际文化走廊，成为上海现代服务业集聚带和文化发展轴重要的组成部分。
The construction at the district's south features a ``cultural function belt of Hongqiao Road.” (Xinhua Road and Yan'an Rd. W.) The key project is to build a film and cultural block at Xinhua Road, a cultural creativity industry zone of Xinshigang Culture and Hongqiao Road International Cultural Corridor. It is in an aim to become the gathering place of Shanghai modern services and a key composition of axis of cultural development.
7．拓展虹桥Hongqiao Expansion
长宁发展历程始终伴随着上海改革开放的进程。1986年上海最早的国家级开发区――虹桥开发区的设立成为长宁对外开放的标志。依托虹桥开发区，长宁的经济得到了长远的发展。
Changning’s development has always in line with the progress of Shanghai’s reform and opening-up. In 1986, Hongqiao Economic & Technological Development Zone, the earliest national development zone in Shanghai, has become a symbol of the district’s reform and opening-up. Supported by the development zone, Changning’s economy has achieved a long-term development.
“十一五”期间，长宁紧紧围绕上海发展大局，着力拓展虹桥，提升综合功能，共同打造“大虹桥”品牌，精心建设“大虹桥”上海西部商务区，不断增强集聚和辐射效应。目前，已吸引沃尔玛全球采购中心、家乐福全球采购、联合利华、爱立信、日本高岛屋百货等40多家跨国企业和国内知名企业总部入驻，下一步还将创建以虹桥友谊商城、虹桥百盛、LV大厦等项目为主的虹桥金三角高端商业区，虹桥――将成为财富领袖的聚首之地。
During the period of the “11th Five-year Plan,” Changning centers on the overall development of Shanghai, make efforts to expand Hongqiao, raise its comprehensive function and build a “Greater Hongqiao” brand. Great efforts have been made to establish “Greater Hongqiao” business area in the west of Shanghai, which enhances both the centralizing and radiate effect. Currently, the zone has attracted headquarters of more than 40 transnational enterprises and well-known domestic enterprises to settle down, including Walmart, Carrefour, Unilever, Ericsson and Takashimaya. In next phase, a “golden triangle” high-end commercial area featuring Shanghai Friendship Hongqiao Shopping Center, Hongqiao Parkson, LV building will be built in Hongqiao. 国家级重点工程虹桥综合交通枢纽的建成将成为长宁经济腾飞的新引擎，长宁正在向“长三角商业第一站”的新角色大迈步向前，根据特有的区位、人文、产业等自身特性，将与交通枢纽紧密相连的一些重点地标打造成独具特色的五大商业板块，如定位于国际购物中心的虹桥商圈、定位于体验型区域商业中心的曹家渡商圈、定位于总部经济、虹桥门户的临空经济园区，待五大板块全部建成，长宁区商业载体面积将由原来的100万平方米以上提升至200万平方米，长宁的商务氛围将会变得越来越浓厚。
The completion of Hongqiao transport hub, a national key project, will become a new engine driving Changning’s economic development. Changning is progressed towards its new role of “the first business stop in Yangtze River Delta” at a fast pace. According to characteristics of its own location, culture and industry, the key landmarks conjoint closely with the transport hub will be built into five business sections of special characteristics. Hongqiao business section will be built into an international shopping center, Caojiadu business section an experimental regional business center, Linkong Economic Zone the portal of Hongqiao with a focus on headquarter economy. By the time when five sections are all completed, Changning's business area will increase from more than 1 million square meters to 2 million square meters. The business atmosphere in Changning will become more and stronger.
8．数字长宁Digital Changning
2001年“数字长宁”诞生以来，长宁逐步成长为海内外科技企业的聚集地，东中西三大产业园区拓展出信息产业发展的更大空间；以多媒体产业园、多媒体走廊为中心的信息化产业链正发挥数字产业的集聚效应。城市管理信息化、社会管理信息化均稳步发展，社区信息化和档案信息化在全市领先。综合经济管理、城区建设与管理、实有人口管理等三大信息系统建设继续推进。以“数字惠民”为目标的信息化工程深入社区里弄、深入百姓之家，为社区居民提供及时便利的信息化服务。
Since the birth of "Digital Changning" in 2001, Changning has gradually grown into a place which gathers high-tech enterprises from home and abroad. The three industrial zones in the east, center and west of the district have explored more space for information industry to develop. An informationalized industry chain centering on media industry zone and multimedia corridor is playing an effective collective role of digital industry. The district has achieved steady progress in informationalization in city management and social management, Its informationalization of community and files takes the lead in the city. The construction of three information systems, including comprehensive economic management, city construction and management, is in progress. With an aim of "benefit the residents with digital," the informationalization project has been rooted deep at communities and families. The residents at the communities are provided with services of informationalization in time conveniently.
9．人才高地Talent Pool
长宁海纳百川的胸怀吸引着全国乃至世界各地的高科技人才，长宁区每百人中大专以上学历比上海市中心城区平均数高出8.7个百分点。多媒体产业园博士后创新实践基地成为上海市博士后创新实践“六大基地”之一。博士后基地引进博士后28名，数量规模居全市前列。首创国际信息化人才创新实践基地在全市具有一定影响力。创建上海数字媒体人才培训联盟，推进政府、企业、高校、培训机构联合联动。长宁区还建立虹桥临空留学回国人员创业园，注册留学生企业186家，留学从业人员416名，其中博士46人，硕士208人。
Changning welcomes high-tech talent nationwide and even worldwide with her tolerance. Among 100 people in the district, the average percentage of those with vocational education or above is 8.7 percent higher than the city's downtown area. Multimedia Industrial Zone Post-doctoral Innovation Practice Base is one of the six post-doctoral innovation bases in Shanghai. The post-doctoral base introduces 28 post doctorates, taking a leading role in the city. The unprecedented International Informationalization Talent's Innovation and Practice Base has a certain influence in the city. The district has also established a Shanghai digital media talent training alliance to promote interaction among the government, enterprises, universities and colleges and training institutions. Changning District is also establishing Hongqiao Linkong Returned Overseas Students' Entrepreneurship Zone. There are 186 registered overseas students' enterprises. The total number of returned overseas students who are employed is 416, among whom 46 are of doctoral degree and 208 master's degree.
10．绿化生态 Green and Ecology
如果用一个颜色来形容长宁，那必定是绿色，长宁素有“住在长宁，长寿康宁”的美誉。客观上由于区域内虹桥机场的限高，除了中山公园和虹桥地区高楼比较林立以外，其他都是小高层和高层居多，再加上由于西郊宾馆、虹桥迎宾馆，包括西郊动物园，还有中山公园、华山、虹延、凯桥等多个大型公共绿地，长宁区绿地总面积1145.6公顷，绿化覆盖率达到32.5%，在上海市中心城区中名列首位。长宁区还是“上海市环境保护模范城区”和“上海市扬尘污染控制示范区”。碧水、蓝天、绿地，住宅典雅、高低错落，大道四通八达，长宁区走出了人与自然和谐、经济建设和环境建设相协调的可持续发展之路。
If we need to describe Changning by a color, the best one must goes to green. Changning has long been famous for its slogan of "Living at Changning -- long life and health." Objectively speaking, since Hongqiao Airport has some requirement on height of surrounding buildings, except Zhongshan Park and Hongqiao area, where high-rises can be seen here and there, other places feature more small high-rising and high-rising residences. Adding Xijiao State Guest Hotel, Hongqiao State Guest Hotel Shanghai, Shanghai Zoo, Zhongshan Park and public green areas such as Huashan, Hongyan and Kaiqao, Changning District's total green area reaches 1145.6 hectares and its green coverage reaches 32.5 percent, ranking top among the city's downtown areas. Changning District is also "A Model District of Environmental Protection in Shanghai" and "A Demonstration Area of Dust control in Shanghai." 长宁区已初步形成融基础教育、职业教育、成人教育、社区教育、国际教育为一体的大教育发展格局。上海市第三女子中学是上海市唯一一所公办女子中学，也是一所蜚声海外的百年名校，宋氏三姐妹曾就读于该校。长宁区还聚集了耀中国际学校、长宁国际学校等7所国际学校，6所国际幼儿园，孩子们在中外籍老师的带领下，不但受到西方思维方式的引导，还受到了中国文化的熏陶。东华大学、华东政法大学、上海对外贸易学院等高校，还为学生们提供了良好的深造机会。
Changning District has gradually formed a grand education development structure, integrating compulsory education, vocational education, adult education, community education and international education. Shanghai No. 3 Girls High School is the only public girl high school in Shanghai. It is also a century-old school well-known to the world. The three sisters from Song Family once studied at the school. Changning District also has seven international schools including Yew Chung International School and Shanghai Changning International School, and six international kindergartens. Under the help of both local and foreign teachers, students can not only be guided by western way of thinking, but also enjoy Chinese culture. Universities such as Donghua University, East China University of Political Science and Law and Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade also provide the students with good opportunities of further study.
13．医疗卫生Medical Treatment and Sanitation
长宁区建立了完善的医疗服务网络，公共卫生预防体系不断完善。长宁涉外医疗机构也很有特色，有16所中外合资、合作医院，90余名外籍医师。其中，上海和睦家医院是上海首家获得医疗领域最高等级“全球医院黄金标准认证”（JCI），也是中国地区第四家获得此殊荣的医院。
Changning District has established a complete medical service net and continues to improve its public sanitation prevention system. The foreign medical institutions in Changning are distinguished. There are a total of 16 hospitals of joint ventures, featuring more than 90 foreign doctors. Among them, Shanghai United Family Hospital and Clinics is the first hospital in Shanghai which recognized by JCI, a gold standard to accredit hospitals around the world, the top attestation in medical field. It is also the fourth hospital in China which has received the honor.
14．历史人文History and Culture
长宁拥有悠久的历史，法华古寺、康有为故居、宋庆龄陵园等历史建筑均坐落在区内。区内共有900多栋具有百年历史的花园洋房，约占上海全市的29%，它们吸收了各国的建筑风格和文化，给长宁注入了西方文明和活力。在这些“老房子”，发生了许多故事，它们已经成为上海近代历史的重要组成部分，其中比较著名的有：沙逊别墅、王伯群住宅、孙科住宅、《泰晤士报》别墅等。
Changning is a district with a long history. Historic architectures such as Fahua Temple, Former Residence of Kang Youwei and The Former Residence of Kang Youwei, Song Qingling Mausoleum are located in the district. There are more than 900 century-old garden houses in the district, accounting for 29 percent of the total number of such gardens in Shanghai. They absorb architectural style and culture from various countries, injecting western civilization and vitality to Changning. These "old houses" have witnessed many stories. They have been an important component in Shanghai’s modern history. The famous ones include Sasson’s, Former Residence of Wang Boqun, Former Residence of Sun Ke and Villa of Times.
文化是一个城市发展的永恒动力和支撑。长宁拥有非常浓厚的历史文化积淀，最早可以追溯至北宋开宝年间，法华禅寺每逢庙会香汛，塔灯高悬，彩旗飘扬，至清乾隆、嘉庆年间，法华成为上海县西侧首镇。元明清时，纷至沓来的各地文人墨客在法华留下众多吟花赋景、叹事感怀的佳诗美文。如今，更多的艺术文化设施坐落在长宁，如上海城市雕塑艺术中心、刘海粟美术馆、上海舞蹈中心、上海芭蕾舞学校、上海油画雕塑院等。
Culture is an everlasting driver and support for a city's development. Changning boasts a profound history and culture. The days could be dated back as early as the period of Kaibao in Northern Song Dynasty. Each time when temple fair came, Fahua Temple would be lighted and decorated with colorful flags. During the Qing Dynasty under the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Jiaqing, Fahua became the first town in west Shanghai. In the dynasties of Yuan, Ming and Qing, literates and scholars coming from various places left many beautiful poems and articles that compliment flowers, sceneries and show off their feelings and ideas. Nowadays, more and more facilities for art and culture have been established in Changning, including Shanghai Sculpture Space、Liu Haishuo Art Museum, Shanghai Dance Center, Shanghai Ballet Art School、Shanghai Painting & Sculpture Institute.
长宁区文化氛围浓厚。具有“民间艺术之乡”之称的新泾地区西郊农民画、江南丝竹等民俗文化早已响彻海内外，长宁沪剧团成功走出国门；肖邦塑像落户中山公园、苏俄造型艺术馆入驻长宁区图书馆。“虹桥文化之秋”艺术节、法华牡丹节等文化品牌也已形成。
Changning District boasts a strong atmosphere of culture. Xinjing area is known as "the town of folk art." Its folk art such as Xijiao Farmer's painting and Jiangnan Bamboo Carving has already well received at home and abroad. Besides, Changning Huju Opera Troupe has successfully walked towards the world. The statue of Chopin has settled at Zhongshan Park. Shanghai Russian Plastic Arts Museum was open at Changning Library. Festivals such as "Autumn of Hongqiao Culture" art festival and Fahua Peony Festival have become the district's cultural name card.
15．体育健身Sports and Fitness
长宁区体育设施齐全，建有国际体操中心、长宁游泳馆、仙霞网球中心等一流的健身场所。全民健身活动蓬勃开展，健身点和健身苑遍布全区，绿地和公共场所也开设了健身活动点，如华山绿地健身苑、新泾体育之光等等。
The sport facilities in Changning District are complete. Top-class fitness venues include Shanghai International Gymnastic Center, Changning Natatorium and Xianxia Tennis Center. The national fitness program is in full swing. The fitness spots and fitness residences is dotted in the district. At green belts and public areas, there are also fitness facilities. Places such as Huashan green belt and Xinjing Sports’ Light are good examples.
16．共迎世博Welcome the World Expo Shanghai 2010
2010年5月1日至10月31日，世界博览会将在上海举办。届时，将有200个国家和国际组织近7000万余人次光临上海，共襄盛举，共享世博。其中有近一半以上的人流将从上海市长宁区的土地上――即以延安路沿线、以虹桥机场枢纽为核心的区域进出。长宁区将积极担当起东道主的职责，按照国际城区的标准，举各方之力扮靓上海“西大门”，把长宁打造成除世博园区以外的世博精品展示区，努力实现“城市，让生活更美好”。
The World Expo Shanghai 2010 will be held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31 in 2010. By that time, around 7 million visitors from 200 countries and regions will visit the city, celebrating the grand event and enjoying the Expo. Among them, more than half of the visitors will enter and leave the city through the lands of Changning District -- the area along Yan'an Road and the area taking Hongqiao Airport as centering. Changning District will take the responsibility of being the host actively, building the "West Gate of Shanghai" according to international standard with joint efforts from all walks of life. The district will be built into a refined world expo exhibition area in addition to the World Expo Site and endeavor to realize the goal of "Better City, Better Life."

A volunteer team formed by "foreign residents" in Changning District for the Expo is led by Ronna from Turkey. Through a variety of activities such as social management, civilization and manner, keep traffic order, English teaching and planting trees, they contribute to the world expo action, being the lovely "new Shanghainese."

Changning District has advantages in convention and exhibition, business tourism and hotel industries. A series of international exhibition centers such as Shanghai International Exhibition Center Intex Shanghai, Shanghai International Agricultural Exhibition Centre and seven five-star hotels are located in the area, accounting for 20 percent of the city's total venues of such kind. 王伯群旧居（长宁区少年宫）
这座华丽的老建筑，是原国民党政府交通部长王伯群于1931年为娶续弦大夏大学校花保志宁建造的宅邸，历时4年，于1934年落成。主建筑面积2158.8平方米，外观为英国维多利亚哥特式，远望犹如一座欧洲城堡。1960年以来，该住宅被用作长宁区少年宫至今，列为上海市优秀近代建筑、市文物保护单位。

The former residence of Wang Boqun（Changning District Children's Palace)
The splendid old architecture is built by Wang Boqun, a Kuomintang Minister of Transportation, in 1931 to remarry Bao Zhining, the school beauty of Daxia University after the death of his wife. It took four years to build it and the project completed in 1934. The main building covers an area of 2,158.8 square meters. With an appearance of Victorian Gothic of England, it looks like a European castle from afar. Since 1960, the residence has been used as Changning District Children's Palace till today. It is on the list of notable modern architecture in Shanghai and the municipal cultural relics preservation unit.

Zhongshan Park
Originally, it was called Zhaofeng Park or Jessfield Park.Located at the west Shanghai, it used to be the private garden owned by H. Fogg, a British property developer and manager of H. Fogg & Co. The park covers a total area of 200,000 square meters. Featuring a coexistence of modern and classics, it could be both busy and tranquil. The site features 120-odd scenic spots, either large or small. The spots are distinguished from each other with different sceneries. With various characteristics, the 12 spots of them are selected as "the 12 scenic spots in Zhongshan Park."

红坊（上海城市雕塑艺术中心）
改建于上钢十厂原轧钢厂厂房，既传承了老工业建筑建筑与生俱来的历史肌理，保护其原生态感，又作了通风、安全的细节处理，使新旧空间互相结合、流动、自然过度。漫步红坊，可以看到原样保留的红砖外墙，整个空间充满了工业文明时代的沧桑韵味，曾经的历史文脉和时代风尚的新鲜血液相互交融。

Red Town ( Shanghai Sculpture Space)
Red Town is converted from a wasted factory. Inherited the historical structure born with the old industrial architecture, the space maintains its original ecological touch. Meanwhile, its ventilation and security facilities have been renovated, enabling a combination, flow and natural transition between the old and the new space. Rambling about the Red Town, one can see the well-preserved red bricks on the exterior wall. Changning Folk-custom Culture Center
It is the first specialized theme cultural palace in Shanghai. The place displays real works of Changning's preservation projects of intangible cultural heritages such as Fahua Peony, skirt and sedan. Here one can also watch shadow play of Liyuan, performance of Jiangnan silk and bamboo music, listen to famous operas and selection by famous actors and actresses, participate in the activity of carrying a wedding sedan chair and learn how to make flour dolls.

中西女中（上海市第三女子中学）
上海唯一一所公办女子中学，学校前身是1881年美国基督教圣公会创办的圣玛利亚女中和1892年基督教南方监理公会创办的中西女中。这座建于1930年代哥特风格的建筑出自匈牙利建筑师邬达克的设计。其内部大厅保存完好的彩色玻璃记录了它昔日的光辉岁月。这所蜚声海外的百年名校，宋氏三姐妹曾就读于此。

Zhongxi Girls High School (Shanghai No.3 Girls High School)
It is the only all-girl public school in Shanghai. Its predecessor was St. Mary's Hall, founded in 1881 by American Episcopal Church , and McTyeire School, founded in 1892 by The Methodist Episcopal Church South. The architecture with a Gothic style was built in the 1930s by Hungarian architect Hudec. The well-preserved colorful glasses in the interior hall records its glorious days in the past. The three sisters from Song Family once studied at the century-old school famous all over the world.

宋庆龄陵园
建于1984年1月，占地约12公顷，为全国重点文物保护单位。宋庆龄陵园由宋庆龄纪念设施、名人墓园和外籍人墓园以及少儿活动区四个部分组成。园内一年四季树木葱茏，芳草如茵，鸟语花香。陵园内设有纪念馆和上海儿童博物馆，远近谒墓瞻仰者络绎不绝。

Song Qingling Mausoleum
Established in January in 1984, it covers about 12 hectares and is listed as the national key cultural relics preservation unit. Song Qingling Mausoleum includes four sections -- facilities to memorize Song Qingling, graveyard for the celebrities, graveyard for foreigners and activity area for children. The place is luxuriant with trees all the year round, featuring evergreen grass and characterizing a fine spring day. The mausoleum also boasts a memorial and Shanghai Children's Museum. People from all directions come here to pay homage in an endless stream.

息焉堂（西郊天主教堂）
外文名Catholic church，占地4.96万平方米。1930年由天主教徒马相伯、何理忠、章显庭、朱孔家等人发起筹建天主教息焉公墓。公墓内的安息堂（即天主堂）为拜占庭建筑，形态精美，堂北面有大钟楼1座，内有铜钟4只，鸣时声闻10里。1994年安息堂被列为上海市优秀近代建筑保护单位。

Catholic Church
It is called Catholic Church in English. Covering an area of 4.96 square meters, the catholic memorial park was initiated by catholics including Ma Xiangbo, He Lizhong, Zhang Xianting and Zhu Kongjia in 1930. The Catholic Church In the memorial park is a Byzantium architecture. With nice lines, there is a bell tower in the north of the church. It includes four bronze bells which can cover as far as 10 mileages in ringing. It was listed as Shanghai Modern Architecture Preservation Unit in 1994.

Shanghai Zoo
It used to be known as Xijiao Park. Featuring more than 500 categories of exhibitions, it displays over 6,000 animals. Basically, they are main representatives in the detailed outline of amniotes. The zoon is also highlighted by rare species including giraffe, zebra, goral, takin, South China Tiger, Francois's Leaf Monkey, Lemur Catta, Oriental White Stork and spot-billed pelican. Generally, the zoon maintains a garden art touch of a cultural and recreational park. It is one of the places with the best ecological environment in Shanghai.

The former residence of Fu Lei
Fu Lei (1908 - 1966) is a famous translator and art critic in China. He achieved 34 translation works in his life, all of which runs smoothly and vividly. Meanwhile, Fu Lei was a strict yet kind father. “The Family Letters of Fu Lei,” which collects family letters to his daughter, won universal praise. Fu Lei lived at the three-storey garden residence in Spanish style since 1949.
